The Walk of Life
By, Bryan Schneider

Afternoon:
You are born.
You grow up.
You've got great friends and family.

Dusk:
Your doctor finds a tumor.
You begin to worry that it might be cancer.

Sunset:
Your doctor tells you you've got cancer.
You stop dead in your tracks.
You don't know what to do.

Night:
The darkest part of your life.
You are depressed, full of despair.
You go through horrible treatments for your cancer.
The end does not seem to exist.
The light at the end of the tunnel isn't even visible.

Twilight:
You can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
You are nearing your last treatment.
The battle is almost over.
Your life will soon turn around.

Sunrise:
The end has arrived.
You've beaten cancer.
You walk with your head up high.
You talk as if nothing ever went wrong.

Morning:
Your friends and family are still there.
You can see a better life ahead of you.
There isn't anything holding you back.
You pick your life up where it last was yesterday.
You live your life to its fullest.

Midday:
You have children and grandchildren.
Memories - You've got more than you can count.
You finally step off the track.
Your life has come to an end.
You didn't die of cancer but of old age.
Your legacy lives on.
